Devlog #19 - Digging Deep


Hello Talented Gamers!

Lots more to share from the Talented Dev Team this time.  We are preparing to bring you the next big update in a couple of weeks, which will really polish the gameplay experience. 

So, here goes.

Brand New Environment

Ryue has been working hard on the environment, and it is now full implemented into the game.  What a difference this makes to the atmosphere!

We are looking at completely redesigned paving stones on the bridge, very nice side walls that add an amazing 3d effect, and a lighting effect that makes the game totally immersive.  I particularly like the subtle pillars that are holding the bridge up, and the incredible mist effect that swirls around beneath as you battle for your life.

Also, have a close look at the experience crystals that drop each time you kill an enemy.

The gates have also been added, with full animation.  They stay locked during the day, to allow talent points to be spent in safety, but at night they drop to release the relentless hordes of enemies.

New Enemy

We are really excited about this one – a new enemy has been added to the line-up.  Gulf is a nasty little burrowing creature, who will move down a lane and then sneakily burrow across to another lane to confuse our hero.  You must stay vigilant when he approaches.  Great job from Vorstave on the implementation and from Ryue on the amazing artwork.  Have a look at how the earth is moved as Gulf digs into the ground.

New Death Sequence

When the enemies finally overwhelm our heroes, death is inevitable.  Vorstave has implemented a really nice new death sequence which shows the hordes rushing into feast, as the scene fades to black.

Lots of work to share with you next time, the new update is close to being ready, so keep playing and keep the ideas and feedback coming.  We would love to hear your ideas on how we can make Talented even more fun to play.
