Devlog #38 - Setting The Tone
Hello Talented Gamers!
It's been far too long since we've caught up, and there's a few new things i'm looking forward to share this time. Quick reminder - everything discussed in this devlog are changes coming to the Steam Early Access version of Talented coming later this year!
First of all, a quick update on the balancing plan.
Recently we've had a few people beat the game on Mastery 25, this is a wonderful surprise (congratulations for anyone who achieved that feat!). For that reason, we've decided to slightly adjust our plan for this update. Instead of reducing the overall difficulty we've decided to leave Mastery 25 as it is for now and collect some statistics from the Steam release.
We'll still be focusing on making the lower Mastery levels *slightly* more challenging, but this revelation gives us some space to work on a few additional goals:
- Making Warrior's Core Talents more interesting and cover their weaknesses better.
- Increasing the power of Epic Talents that have fallen behind in power
- Slowing down the leveling once a very high level has been achieved
New Title Screen
The very first screen you see in Talented was the last one we reworked! Long time gamers have been "Clicking Door to Enter" for over 2 years now and, while we're sad to see it go, we're really proud of our brand new opening screen!
We've also added a few subtle animations that we'll be rolling out to the rest of the game.
New Settings Menu
Next up, we've updated and expanded the settings menu. We've added multiple tabs to allow us to easily expand it further over the course of Early Access.
Our new graphics tab allows you to switch between Fullscreen and Windowed and change the resolution! One of our most requested features.
In the gameplay settings you can increase the Zoom Speed on the Talent Tree and enable/disable Auto-Fire.
Note: Auto-Fire doesn't pick the direction of the shots for you, it only makes it so you don't have to hold down the key.
And that's about it for this time! Thank you so much for reading... and of course...
Stay Talented
