Devlog #35 - Skill Issue

Hello Epic Talents!

We're well over half way through the content we planned for 0.9 - since we last spoke we've been experimenting with some things you might expect, but some you definitely won't! Let's jump right in.

A Skillful Warrior Package

Warrior is too hard you say? Have you tried just not getting hit? With the newest combo themed Warrior Package you can flex on those pathetic enemies and show them who's boss.

Protect your combo from "unlucky" moments!

And if you lose it all? No problemo!

Open Fort

We've heard your pleas for more Wizard econ builds - and we're delivering with our biggest economy package yet.. For Science!

By learning Rare Talents you can gain increased rewards!

How will you gain access to that many rare talents? You'll have to wait until next time to find out!

Stylish Settings

We know that flashy fullscreen effects aren't for everyone, and it's definitely not a main focus of Talented. Having said that, it never hurts to add a little flare when you have the time - so we've added a few touches to make the game feel little spicier for those who want it.

Some film grain and a little chromatic aberration gives the subtle feel of playing on a screen that hasn't existed in well over a decade (exactly how Talented is enjoyed best!)

Bloom works especially well on the Talent Tree, now your build can glow bright! Keen eyed readers will also notice that we've subtly faded Talents that are not currently available, making the tree slightly easier to read.

Finally, screen shake can give that extra punch whenever you land a large ability or take damage. (Note: It does not come across very well in gifs, but hopefully this gives you an idea of what we're going for!)

Naturally all of this can be disabled in the settings menu.

Phew... That was a lot... And the worst part is there's still so much more to talk about, this is shaping up to be the biggest Talented update of all time. Looking forward to letting you in on more secrets next time!
