Devlog #34 - And Many More...

Happy Birthday Talented Gamers!

It's official, it has been 2 years since we first released Talented on itch.io and the response has just been amazing! We've had well over 10,000 people try it out, tons of feedback, video content and even people designing their own classes!

From everyone here at the Talented team I want to say thank you for your time and assistance in bringing this game from a concept to a fully fleshed out game.

Now, with the mushy stuff out of the way, let's get into some of the new additions to Talented in the last couple of weeks!

Warrior Bulks Up

With the new Rage Mechanic, Core Set and Talent Packages last update, the "Barbarian" side of Warrior truly began to shine. With the Combo Talents and powerful Strike abilities you can clear the screen of enemies in the blink of an eye.

However... We've always wanted the Warrior to have the option of building Tanky, but with the existing talents it's not really possible. Enter Health Regeneration

At the start of each run, the Warrior will have access to this unique mechanic. Every 15 seconds, if the Warrior has missing health he will regenerate 5 Health Points. Better yet, this can be improved with a new Common Core Talent.

This will replace the "Rage Up" talent, meaning Warrior will currently only be able to increase their Maximum Rage using the Sweet Combo Talent. To compensate we've increased the base Maximum Rage to 40, which should be plenty to keep throwing those axes!

We know what you're thinking though. "If I build like a brick and take a beating, won't I miss out on all of that juicy experience from enemy kills?"... We've got you covered!

Harsh Lesson will be coming to the Warrior Base Set in update 0.9, meaning it will appear on every Warrior Talent Tree! Better yet, it's a Rare talent, which means you have have 2... 3... 4... More...? That could be over 100% experience just by taking it on the chin!

There's even more support for Big Boy Warrior coming in the Talent Packages for 0.9, already looking forward to talking about those!

O R B S

Orbs seemed to make quite the stir in the last update.
Really seems like people liked them, so we've decided to give them a Wizard Package all to themselves!
Bugs, like the bobble hat and orbit distance being smaller on high game speeds have also been fixed
So hopefully you'll enjoy using them in your runs soon!

Tired of enemies escaping your orbit? Reel 'em in!

What do you mean Orbular isn't a word?

That's about all I have for you this time, but there will be a lot more on Talent Packages and some more changes to gameplay pacing coming soon.

Stay Talented!
