Devlog #17 - Experimentation


Hello Talented Gamers!

This past couple of weeks we've been experimenting with all kinds of new features, some of which have been suggested by the community! So let's get right into those. A lot of these ideas are work in progress, so the finished feature may look very different.

Experience Gems

Inspired by games like Geometry Wars 2 and Vampire Survivors - our enemies now drop tasty experience gems when you defeat them.

Still lots of improvements on the art side, but it definitely feels more satisfying to destroy hordes of enemies now. This also gives us room to add more types of loot in the future.

Legendary Talent Pointers

A great idea from a community member, we now have arrows that point towards legendary talents that are currently off screen. You can even click to zoom over to them!


Buff Bar

Thanks to Ryue's amazing work on streamlining our Top Left character info, we've gained a ton of space to finally add a buff bar, which can make tracking your current upgrades much easier.

Run Progress

As mentioned earlier, we're moving the run progress (Night X/20) onto the Talent Screen as it's not particularly relevant to the combat for an individual night.

We're currently working on some mockups for how that should look, but I can't help but share it early because the characters are SO CUTE!


Amazing work Ryue!

There's so much stuff in progress right now, it's almost hard to work out what to share, needless to say there's plenty to come. Have a great week everyone!
