Devlog #16 - Day and Night


Greetings Legendary Talents!

We've been hard at work on the next Talented update and I'd like to show you some of the progress we've made!

Time Panel

This week we tackled the time panel, completely redesigned it to give it a similar, more streamlined, feel to the player resources panel.

As you can see, we've saved a lot of space and made your current progress into a night much clearer. Generally we're trying to reduce the UI clutter a little to make the game feel less claustrophobic and give us more room to work with when we update the environment.

We've move the "Day X/20" (now "Night X/20") to the Talents Screen for now. That information is more useful there anyway.

Note: Instead of 'Days' we're calling each combat period a 'Night', monsters do come out at night after all!

UI Animations

We're slowly working to juice up the game! This week we've added a few animations to the player resources panel.

Leveling Up

Taking Damage

Spending Mana

There's loads more of these to come! Hopefully they should make every Talented run feel a little more hype.

Drag/Dropping Abilities

One final thing we added this week. By popular request you can now drag and drop abilities to any slots you like!

A common frustration when playing a few runs of Talented was gaining the same abilities in different orders meant the abilities would always be in different slots.

I can't tell you the number of times I've pressed [2] over an over again  trying to Bandage myself only to realise it's my Mine ability instead.

While I expect this will still happen from time to time, the chance to re-arrange your abilities should at least give you some way to mitigate this problem.
