Devlog #13 - Team Building
Hello Elite Traits!
I come to you on this brisk January day with news of those who seek to be your ally.
You heard correctly, with the new Summoner Class you won't need to fight the hordes of the Talented dungeons alone.
Introducing the Helpers
You can begin by selecting either Summon Googly or Summon Lil Blobs as your starting ability.
The googly can add a strong initial frontline to your team, but the pair of lil blobs move faster and double up on any future buffs you may acquire through talents.
Tip: If you change direction quickly enough you can split the lil blobs up, sending each down a different lane.
Speaking of buffs, the Summoner has access to rare talents that can increase all non-basic helpers Size and Power. All armies need a strong front line!
You actually want your more powerful helpers to move more slowly so they can get more attacks in before moving off screen so the speed down is an upgrade here!
Slow and Steady
Next let's take a look at the upgrades you can get for your basic helper; The Battle Snail. Upgrade talents for the Summoner's basic helper give them a chance to gain an additional ability.
This snail is truly prepared for war. A few of these can easily clear out an entire lane of enemies and come in clutch, helping with the Summoner's lack of recovery.
This little helper can easily exceed the normal amount of damage you'd expect from a basic attack. When the talent procs I'd highly recommend using abilities to summon additional helpers to protect him, the longer he lives - the longer his trail.
Abilities
I'll have more to say on these next week, as we're currently experimenting with lots of new ideas to make Ability Helpers even more interesting!
For now, I can tell you that some of the fan favourite enemies will be joining your team (if you can find them in the Talent tree!)
Skelebobs turn into a bone pile on death (and resurrect if left alive long enough), making them extremely powerful if you can protect them.
Mega Blobs split into two lil blobs on death, meaning they gain triple benefit from any health or damage increase talents.
That's all for this week! Thanks for reading and if you have any thoughts/ideas don't hesitate to let me know.
