Devlog #10 - Itch.io and Saves
Hello Talented Gamers!
While gameplay development on 0.4.X is completely wrapped up. I won't be able to release today sadly as I've found a last minute annoyance in the way Itch.io handles save data!
Every build uploaded to itch.io has a unique URL and so Unity gives it a unique persistent data path. Annoyingly this means that saving across updates doesn't work without a solution unique to Itch.io.
This also means that progress made on 0.3.9 may need to be manually recovered. Thankfully the save system is very simple so it should be easy enough to do that.
In terms of content I haven't changed a huge amount, this week has mostly been balancing and fixing bugs. Here are a few things you can expect in the next build:
Core Game
- Mega blobs now have less hit points
- Skelebob's bone piles now have less hit points
- Archers have reduced range and attack speed (but now always begin with either Quick Fire or Hail of Arrows, choosable via traits)
- Wizard has reduced attack speed but increased maximum mana points
- Fixed rare talents becoming unlearnable if they rerolled from an ability you had already learnt
Meta Game
- Greatly increased the class leveling speed (the one used to unlock new traits)
- The first trait for each class now allows you to select a starting ability (e.g. Fireball/Cyclone for Wizard)
