Devlog #7 - Stabby Stabby

Hello Talentees!

IT'S TOO HOT (or it was at least). Now that's out of the way, let's talk about what's been happening with Talented this week.

The Warrior Charges into Battle!

I've been hard at work fleshing out the Abilities, Talents and Class Traits for the new Warrior class! The Warrior wields a broadsword that pierces through all enemies in his attack direction, making him a risky pick but a powerful one.

The Warrior has access to a reworked version of the old Block talent (now called Parry) which gives enemies a chance to fail their attack and bounce backwards providing an extra layer of defence. He also has strong base knockback and attack speed, allowing him to delay enemies coming from one direction while he deals with those from coming another.

For Abilities, a running theme will be 'Strike' abilities. These enhance the next 2 attacks, adding an additional effect (e.g. creating a lightning bolt or a blizzard) to them. Combined with the new Relentless talent shown below you can create a build that will devastate enemies in a direction before they even get into melee range.

Traits 2.0

A fair criticism of the old Class Trait system;  the choices felt like sacrificing a big part of your class identity for another (e.g. Choosing between having an ability at the start of the game and having more Experience Up talents on the Wizard).

To help with this Trait choices will now be more similar to each other. For example, the first Trait choice will now allow you to choose your starting ability. (That's right! All Classes will now have a starting ability.)

Other traits will allow you to choose which talents you want to appear more often, or even offer small bonuses at the start of each day.

Archers New Look

Just like the Wizard last week, the Archer class now has some ADORABLE elf ears. So I'll leave you with those!
