Talented 0.3.9 - Class and Mastery
Hey Talented Gamers!
After just over 1.5 months I'm finally ready to drop 0.3.9, with all of the promised Class, Mastery and Traity (??) goodness. As well as a ton of bug fixes, UI changes and even a couple of new enemies thrown into the mix!
Here's a quick run down of what I've been up to:
Classes
You can now play as either the Archer or the Wizard!
The Archer is focussed on dealing huge amounts of DPS with quick firing basic attacks. You will find abilities that allow you to fire in all directions at once, or help defend you while you put out tons of damage. Beware though, the Archer has the lowest starting Health Points, so keep your enemies at a distance.
The Wizard is focussed on blowing up enemies with powerful abilities. You will find talents that allow you to cast your abilities more frequently and with more impact. Beware though, when your abilities are on cooldown you may find yourself struggling to handle the incoming assault so use them wisely.
Mastery
Unlike earlier versions of Talented, runs now have an end that isn't just getting all the talents and leaving when you get bored!
Survive 20 days to complete a run and unlock the next Mastery Level. Mastery levels are a new game plus style mechanic that adds additional challenge to your runs. On top of bragging rights you will receive more class experience when you play runs on higher mastery levels. Allowing you to unlock:
Traits
Customise your Class to fit your playstyle with unlockable permanent Class Traits!
Traits give you buffs that last your entire run. They can be selected before a run starts and are unlocked by levelling up your Classes inside runs. Make tough choices between extra offence and defence, or early and late game power.
New Enemies
Two new enemies can now spawn in the Talented dungeon!
Buster is a spooky lad who will slowly inch towards you until he sees an opportunity to strike, then he'll step on the gas (gas gas).
The Queen may seem like a harmless slow moving insect, but allow her to get close enough and she'll spawn an infinite barrage of flies that slowly whittle you down until you deal with her (or ALT-F4 in rage).
Bugs and Stuff
I fixed them!
- The D6 no longer causes you to be unable to see some talents that you'd already revealed
- Skelebob bone piles will no longer be out of range when the Skelebob you killed was in range
- You can now hold Shift on the talent screen to hide all talents you've already purchased
- And more....
Thanks again guys! If you have any questions or suggestions the best thing to do is visit the Discord, as I'm most active there. Feel free to comment if you prefer though!
